Procedure for registration of Societies/ NGOs/ Mosques/Madaris/ Trust/ Foundation under
Societies Registration Act, 1860
Societies having following objectives are register-able:
“Societies established for the purpose of promotion of science, charitable purpose, literature, or
the fine arts, for instruction, the diffusion of useful knowledge, the foundation or maintenance of
libraries or reading rooms for general use among the members or open to the public, or public
museums and galleries of paintings and other works of art, collections of natural history,
mechanical and philosophical inventions, instruments or designs”.
Following requirements are to be fulfilled for the registrations of societies under this Act:
• Registration Fee: Rs = *** deposited in any branch of National Bank of Pakistan under Head
of Account No.CO3818 through Treasury Challan (32-A).
• At least 7 members are required to establish Governing Body of a Society.
• Attested copies of CNICs of all members/office bearers are required.
• An affidavit on stamp paper amounting to Rs = 88 is required to be furnished confirming
authenticity of documents filed by society and also stating that there is neither any dispute nor
litigation is pending before any forum against proposed society. It is also to be confirmed that
society is not previously registered before any forum.
• In case of registration of mosque and madrisa, the proof of ownership of land is required to be
furnished.
• In case of registration of trust, the certified copy of trust deed duly registered by Sub Registrar
is required to be furnished.
